Asking how come I haven't updated it. I don't want to bore you with nothing that's not news. Well I'm back and a new format is being tailored so that the page doesn't take a long time to load. I'm trying to put less graphics and more news. Tell me what can I do to please you. Let me know what you think. Here we go!
TIDBITS! ![]() Gladys Knight had to pay $40,000 to promoters and staff after her concert flopped. The Motown singer was to have a concert in a 5,000 seat arena but was only able to sell 645 tickets causing all who were involved to cancel the show. Knight said she blames it on the show not being promoted properly. Such is life Gladys! Do you know how much I lost? Don't even let me start. Sean Puffy Combs is being sued left, right and center. The owner of Club New York where the shooting incident happened last year said that after the incident, attendance at the club have fallen and ruined his cash flow, so now he wants $1.8 million. Hold on! The driverof the jeep that Puffy was in is also suing Combs for $3 million. He said he is suing for emotional distress because Combs forced him to run11 red lightswhile trying to get away from cops. I should sue him too for being stupid! Why not? Everybody is suing somebody. Westchester ReggaeFest 10.1.00 is now history. What a show it was! I will start with the acts that I thought were impressive.Ghost made an impressive stage entrance by rising up from a stage built coffin. While this might not be the first time the singing duppy made a grand entrance like this, it is the first time in New York that he did this. He had the ladies in his palm as he reeled off all his hits. Impressive performance came from the dancers Fresh Kidz. These guys are always original. They entered the stage on original Jamaican skates (scooters for my American readers) Picture is forthcoming! Yes, people. If you forgot what skates looked like in Jamaica they brought back the memories that had the Palladium laughing and moving. BeenieMan was ever the showman. He entered the stage to a thunderous applause and had the audience eathing out of his hands. Every song he did went over well with the sold out massives in the Palladium. He put on a really wicked show. Anything less would not be BeenieMan. Buju Banton made a really good attempt and worked hard to whip the crowd in a frenzy but he seemed to lack the energy we are used to. Maybe it's because he was at Club Amazura the Friday. His biggest forward came when he went into his battyman anthem "Boom Bye Bye" which had the crowd euthanizing battymen! The rest of the show saw veterans likeCane Juice, Donna V even though he did not perform,Aaron Silk, Jah Batta, Mr. Coola Gregory Issac sound alike who gave a wicked performance of the cool ruler's songs.ReggaeFestwas a success and congratulations to Mona Lee, Demetrius, Paul Campbell, Barry G the MC, Metropromotions and the man of the hour David "Squeeze" Anakie from Linkup Radio.
World Clashis over,Jabba'sbash is over and I didn't go to neither and guess what? I still had a great time. |
